Common questions before starting care
These answers are designed to help patients understand the appointment request process, payment, telehealth requirements, and practice policies.
How do I get started with your practice?
Complete the appointment request form, and Sarah will reach out to you by email within 3 business days.
How do you collect payment?
Sarah High Psychiatry partners with Headway for insurance billing. Before scheduling your appointment, you will receive an email from Headway asking for your insurance information and a credit card to keep on file. You may also ask Headway questions about your insurance eligibility and benefits.
Do I need to be in Maryland or Washington, DC for appointments?
Yes. Sarah is currently licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC, so patients must be located in one of those jurisdictions at the time of appointments. For a smooth telehealth appointment, please be in a location with a reliable internet connection and do not drive during your visit.
What is your cancellation or no-show policy?
If you need to reschedule an appointment, please contact Sarah through the SimplePractice portal. Every effort will be made to reschedule you within a similar timeframe. A minimum of 24 business hours’ notice is required to avoid a late cancellation fee.
Failure to appear for an appointment at the time reserved for you will be billed at the full appointment charge. If you arrive 15 minutes late, this is considered a missed appointment, and you will need to be rescheduled.
Do you provide medication refills between visits?
Prescriptions are submitted during appointments with the correct number of refills to last until the next appointment. Regular visits are required to continue prescriptions.
